Do you need a rewire or a new updated consumer unit? Looking to brighten up the kitchen with spot lights or jazzy LED strips? Are you secretly planning your man cave at the bottom of the garden? When quoting for electrical work on a property it is essential that a quick survey is conducted in order to confirm the magnitude of work necessary to carry-out the said construction and provide an accurate price for the works. A more important element of this survey is to confirm that your electrical system can safely and legally achieve whatever the said works require, so that an electrical certificate can be produced and supplied to the customer on completion. This survey will involve a small amount of Inspection and Testing on your electrical system which is necessary to confirm compliance with the BS7671 regulations and allow for the said works to be carried-out. If your system does not pass the basic requirements for the works then advice will be provided to the customer and the works necessary to rectify the issues will be raised and added to the final quote itself. Common areas where extra work may be needed include the Earth bonding missing or insufficient, Consumer Unit is outdated or doesn’t have capacity to add new circuits, lack of RCD protections etc. As electrical safety is at the forefront of Agility Electricals ethos, we do not cut corners and will only provide work if the final result safely complies with the BS7671 regulations and certificates can confidently be supplied to the customer on completion.
